So much Better!!!

Can I just say this week has gone so much better, and just when the experience is over. Me and Jenny taught on Tuesday and today and we teach again tomorrow and friday. I am so sad it is going to be over, I love so much being around these kids. Anyways we taught another group of kids (new track new group) and teaching on the Gods and Goddesses went by so much better! I had a great day today! I felt so much more comfortable and spoke so much better. The students are assigned to create their own God and Goddess I am very excited to see what they have came up with!
Today was also the day we were observed and I think it went well.....Tomorrow I am going to teach on the pottery and the students are going to create their own vase using kidpixs so it should be really fun and exciting.

Oh and in the school their doing a food drive and at the end their doing a UofU vs. BYU football game with the school. It is such a neat idea. Me and Jenny had the opportunity to play with our 6th grade class, and can I say I had so much fun! Even if I am so not the greatest player ever....hey I actually caught the ball!!! Wahoo! The kids were so happy for me:) It was great.
I will miss this! Too bad that I can't stay out here forever!
Well I will see ya'll next week.....Yipee!

Week 2

Well week2 went by better I think. I taught on the Persian and the Peleponnesian Wars. I knew it would be really hard to teach 5 wars in 1 day, but I did it. I think it could have turned out better if I had an extra day but that didn't happen. It's ok because even though I knew I wouldn't have the time and everything, it taught me that I don't have to teach it all right then and there, that the students will have questions and I know that I can carry on the lesson the next day, when I am a teacher.
I also taught an art lesson on friday, this went a heck of a lot better and I was less stressed. The students made these really cool pictures that have to do with Thanksgiving. It was relaxing and I think the students enjoyed.
I am teaching the Greek Gods week 3 on Tuesday and Wednesday and on Thursday we're having the students create pottery art on Kidpix(however you spell it) so it should be fun. Wish me Luck!

WOW....

Can I say today was an exhausting day for me. Today, tuesday, I taught again for my second time. I taught on the Persian Wars and the Peloppenisian war with Greece. I felt like it was too much information for 6th graders to learn in one sitting, I felt like I talked too much! I think if I ever teach the wars again I am going to do it differently and hopefully get to teach it in 2days instead of one. But I think the students enjoyed it, I hope. I now only have to teach 2 more times! I think it will be a bit sad when this all ends. I will miss all those cute 6th graders! Well thats it I will still keep you up to date...Oh and I showed my digital story of the Legend of Halloween on Halloween, the teacher and the students liked it alot! Yeah!

First Week of Field

First day of field work was on Wednesday, October 31. I had a lot of fun this day because Halloween my favorite holiday. I didn't get to dress up because the principal let the students dress up only for the parade...sadness. Anyway we just observed this day, but the teacher Mrs. Lindsay asked if we would be ready to teach on Friday! I was a little scared, but I would do it. I went home and studied up on Greek Gods and Goddesses so I would be ready....
On Friday was the day I taught, I was nervous but so ready to just get up there and teach. I must say I think I did a great job and so did Jenny! It was such a rush and I realized that YES I am supposed to be doing this, be a teacher. I love doing it so much. I love the look on children's/students faces when they are interested in what I have to teach. I love that they participate and add to the discussion. I loved every second of it.
Now, on Monday, I get to teach by myself on the Greek Wars. I am also studying up on that subject so I know what the wars were, what and how I can teach the students about the wars. I will for surely let you all know how it goes.
I hope everyone is having a good time in field and things are going well!
